Gala benefits SYFS with ‘Great Gatsby Glamour’
Many of the over 300 guests were appropriately dressed for the “Great Gatsby Glamour” theme while attending the 11th annual Gala to support Shrewsbury Youth & Family Services (SYFS). The agency’s major fundraiser was held March 14 at St. John’s High School.
The evening began with a reception and silent auction. Live music was provided by the six-piece St. John’s High School Jazz Combo. Following a sit-down dinner prepared and served by Struck Catering, guests were welcomed by Terry Cassidy, SYFS executive director, and Melissa Pride-Fahs, event chair.
Tom Kennedy, SYFS board chair, introduced Dr. Harvey Clermont, this year’s Harry S. Cutting Jr. Award recipient. Clermont has done missionary work locally and internationally. He currently directs three free medical clinics, one at St. Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury and two in Worcester. See his info here.
